Dreamcatcher had a comeback in April 2022, with their hit title track "Maison". The group started a TikTok challenge labeled #maisonchallenge, where they challenged somnias (their fanbase) to dance the chorus choreo.
I can't dance for crap, so I decided to illustrate and animate the choreo instead. My favourite outfit this comeback belongs to Yoohyoen—I think the mini corset and half cape really fits her and just looks amazing on stage!
Note: I did not make a final version with cleanup and smoother movements due to the challenge timeframe. Also, the videos uploaded to Adobe Portfolio are restricted to a lower framerate, so the videos may feel slower than they actually are!

Art Style and Concept
I wanted to do a similar art style to my Momoland "Thumbs Up" dance animation. I wanted a flat vector look but with some shading and details, as well as free form shapes using the pen tool.

Using multiple strokes to fake outlines
The limbs in my artwork are all made with strokes (for the purpose of tapering for shortening). In order to "fake" an outline for the limbs, I had to use an outer stroke layer style.
